Since 1990, Dover High-Performance Plastics (DHPP) has supplied precision-engineered plastic components for a wide range of industrial applications. Our company operates as a vertically integrated custom fabricator and manufacturer in Ohio. We optimize the production process from material selection through inspection and provide the traceability that engineers and procurement teams expect.
Core Philosophy: A Solution-Oriented Approach to Industrial Components
Component failures can result from design specifications and processing methods that don’t match the application, such as an unsuitable compound for the thermal load, an ineffective geometry for the sealing surface, or an incompatible filler for the chemical environment.
At Dover High-Performance Plastics, we work with a solution-oriented approach. Before production, our engineers review application requirements, such as:
- Operating temperature
- Mating surface compatibility
- Load conditions
- Regulatory requirements
Our fabrication services include automatic compression molding, machining, ball grinding, and other operations under one roof. We serve a wide range of industries, from aerospace and medical to military and petrochemical.
Domestically Integrated: U.S. Manufacturing and Sourcing Transparency
Our facility is in Dover, Ohio, where fabrication, including compression molding, is performed on-site. Our manufacturing capabilities support varying standards and custom requirements:
- Automatic compression molding: High-volume production of PTFE and engineered plastic components with consistent material properties.
- CNC machining: Precision machining for tight-tolerance custom parts.
- Ball grinding: Production of precision plastic balls for sealing and flow-control applications.
We can design and fabricate finished products that meet exact specifications. We work with an array of PTFE-based plastics, using resins and engineered polymers sourced from U.S.-based suppliers.
Quality Assurance Frameworks & Regulatory Compliance
Statistical Process Control (SPC) for Zero Non-Conformance
Quality at DHPP is built into the process. We use Statistical Process Control (SPC) to monitor production and identify variation before it impacts part quality. Combined with computerized measurement equipment and advanced gauging technology, this helps maintain tight tolerances and consistent results. Incoming material verification, in-process checks, and final inspection support our zero-defect approach.
Testing and Certifications (MIL, ASTM, and AMS Specifications)
We test and certify custom fabrications to meet critical testing requirements and standards, such as:
- MIL specifications. For defense and military program requirements.
- ASTM standards. For dimensional, mechanical, and material property verification.
- AMS specifications. For aerospace-grade material and processing requirements.
Certificates of conformance and material certifications are available upon request. See our quality assurance page for details.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) for Engineering & Procurement Sourcing
What high-performance plastic materials do you work with?
Our specialization is PTFE and filled fluoropolymers. We fabricate from a wide range of engineered plastics, including virgin and filled PTFE variants (glass, bronze, carbon, graphite, stainless steel, pigmented), other fluoropolymers (PFA, FEP, PVDF), and advanced engineered polymers like PEEK, UHMW-PE, nylon, Delrin, and PPS.
Can you process and mold custom PTFE formulations on-site?
Yes; compression molding and secondary operations are all performed in-house, supporting traceability and reducing lead time exposure.
Are your materials or components sourced from overseas?
We work with both domestic and international raw material suppliers, allowing customers to choose the sourcing option that best aligns with their technical, procurement, or compliance requirements. All fabrication, molding, and machining are performed at DHPP.
What are your standard lead times for custom component manufacturing?
Lead times depend on complexity, material, and volume. We offer stock and release programs for customers with recurring demand. Discuss your production schedule directly during the RFQ process.
Choosing the Right Custom Polymer Fabrication Partner
Choosing a manufacturing partner involves more than comparing capabilities. Understanding how parts are produced, how quality is controlled, and how materials are tracked throughout production is also important. For more than three decades, Dover High-Performance Plastics has maintained in-house custom polymer fabrication processes with complete traceability from raw resin to packaged parts.
